Tesla shares surged after reports that Elon Musk has received approval to deploy the company’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) autonomous software in China. The EV company’s stock climbed more than 15 per cent.
When an X follower posted that Tesla would hold a robotaxi event on August 8, which is a lucky number in China. The X owner said in his statement, “I chose it partly because 8/8 is a lucky number in China! Also, it is the birthday of my three children, who are now 17 years old. ”
According to the report, getting approval for FSD and a major data deal with Chinese internet giant Baidu are two big wins for Musk.
Earlier this month, the Tesla CEO announced that his electric car company Tesla will unveil its robotaxi on August 8.
The announcement brought joy to his millions of followers. An X user posted, “Wow, can’t wait to see a Tesla without a steering wheel.”
In 2019, the company hinted at operating robotaxi by 2020. However, the plan did not move forward.
The Supreme Court on Monday turned away tech billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s attempt to challenge the terms of an agreement he reached with the Securities and Exchange Commission that require a lawyer to review some of his social media posts.
